THINK FUTURE | EDUCATION SESSIONS

✨On Sunday 14 August 2002 at the beautifully appointed Javits Center, I had the privilege of joining a talented group of industry experts at Jewelers of America’s  THINK FUTURE | EDUCATION SESSIONS.

1️⃣First Up

Think Future: People

🔥A fireside chat with myself & Susan Posnock of Jewelers of America, where we look at the ways the industry is - and needs to - invest in attracting new ideas and talent (start with using updated descriptors when posting job opportunities), to the jewelry industry along with the Jewelers of America Careers Initiative, and the need to bring more diversity to the jewelry industry. We also amplified how the industry has evolved and how work expectations have changed over the last decade or so.

🎤 We shared with the audience the challenges employers experience with mentoring, and “quiet quitting”, a new term (google it), that is creating a buzz among Gen Z; and ways to mitigate these workplace challenges.

🎤Lastly, I informed the audience how Black in Jewelry Coalition uses outreach, education, and strong ally relationships to support DEI in the gem, jewelry, and watch industry.

🙏🏽Thanks Susan Posnock for inviting me to share the stage with you.
